Get your magnesium!

Magnesium has been shown to protect against headaches. In migraine-oriented studies, those with more magnesium in their bloodstream were found to report less frequency and severity. Foods rich in magnesium include kale, avocados, legumes, nuts, and seeds. When supplementing magnesium, be wary of digestive issues, as some taking higher dosages have reported upset stomach and indigestion.

Avoid foods high in histamine

Histamine occurs naturally in the body and plays a role in several of our internal systems. Histamine can cause migraines in those sensitive to it, and therefore it is wise to avoid histamine-rich foods. Many of these are not vegan foods, and include aged cheeses, meat, beer, wine, and smoked fish.

Peppermint Essential Oil
