Self-care is one of the best things you can do for your mind, body, and soul. Life can be stressful and full of obstacles. Investing in yourself can build your self-esteem and positivity, but developing a self-care routine can seem like quite an undertaking. However, it’s far from impossible—studies show that it takes an average of 66 days to become comfortable with your new lifestyle. If you are looking to better your life, here are some daily self-care routines you can start in 2019.

Exercise

Being active every day is one of the best things for your body. This can include working out, running, yoga, and much more, so do something you enjoy. All these activities will make you feel better and satisfy your body. Adopting an active lifestyle will also help you avoid the risks of type 2 diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.

Skin care

Your skin is the largest organ in your body and the most exposed. Skin protects your entire body, so you want to maintain it the best way you can. Developing an everyday skin care routine can give your skin the nutrients it craves. Drinking water, wearing sunscreen, and applying natural oils are great ways to care for you skin.

Wake up early

While waking up early requires a lot of self-discipline, it can be very beneficial to your life. Waking up early allows you to take the time to do things for yourself while everyone else is asleep. Take advantage of this time to prepare a good breakfast, exercise, and more. You should also avoid any technology in the morning to maximize productivity.

Sleep

Maintaining a sleep schedule and getting your eight hours a night is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Adopting a consistent sleeping routine will keep you energized throughout the day. A sleeping schedule also lets your body know when it’s time to fall asleep and wake up. You want to avoid naps longer than 30 or 45 minutes. To help you sleep, relax before going to bed, avoid technology, and read a book.
